Avondale Sky Winery
We were greeted by a couple of very pleasant folks who seemed to have all the time in the world for us. It helped that we were the only ones there!
In any event we tasted some wine and bought a few bottles. Two things that impressed us, a Pinot Noir Blanc. Normally Pinot Noir is a red wine, this was white. It had a very nice fruity taste with good body,
The next surprise was a port wine fortified by Ironworx of Lunenberg. It did not have the heavy taste of port but it was definitely port-like.
This shot is of the stained-glass window in the retail area of the winery (not the end you see in the photo). Very impressive! When the church was moved from its former location everything, or most things, were left intact.
When we got back home we decided to go online and join their wine club. Should be fun to see what arrives in the months to come.
That day we visited two other wineries in the Annapolis Valley but this was the one that impressed us the most.
