Time to get the old girl on the Road

After 30 years of neglect (well, not deliberate neglect) our 1982 Audi Coupe GT is finally seeing a variety of parts replaced. It did not pass safety. In fact, it failed miserably.

The list is long; it needs a complete brake job, front and rear, bearings, ball joints, tie-rods, parts of the fuel delivery system attended to, and typical tune-up parts including rotor, plug wires, plugs and so on. About $1000 worth of parts purchased from a couple of online suppliers. And that might not be the end. No doubt something else will crop up. After all the repairs it will have to be re-safetied. Let's hope that it will pass.

I had considered using it as a fall get-around car but I don't think that is going to happen. At least at this point in the season I don't have to worry about air conditioning which doesn't work anyway.
